Olga Magdon passed away suddenly on April 19, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She lived an exceptional, joyful life for each of her 89 years.
Olga was born February 18, 1921, in Jessup, PA. Her parents were the late Wasil Pisechko and Pauline Kril Pisechko who had come to the United States from the Ukraine. They raised a very loving and supportive family of eight children.
Olga attended Saint Cyril and Methodius Elementary School and Throop High School. After graduating high school in 1939, Olga moved to Philadelphia. She lived there for several years with her sisters.
It was back home that she was reunited with her former childhood friend, Henry Magdon, who became the love of her life. They were married on August 31, 1946. They spent 46 beautiful years together before Henry passed away in 1993. During this time Olga worked as a seamstress for Bobby Dress Co. and Leslie Fay while Henry owned and operated M&M Sales and Services. Olga was a member of the Lady Lions Club of Olyphant and St. Michael the Archangel Church, Olyphant.
Olga was a loving mother to their five children. She will especially be remembered for her sharp mind and quick wit; for her devotion to her husband, to her children and to her faith; for the patience she exhibited throughout her life; for the love she expressed to everyone that knew her and for her motherly kindness and gentleness. She left an indelible mark on everyone she touched, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
