Eleanora M. (Cisternelli) Rignanese, 78 of Franklin, formerly of Plainville, died April 22 in Caritas Norwood Hospital; she was the wife of the late James Rignanese who died in 1985.
Born in Norwood, February 12, 1932, the daughter of the late Dominic and Mary (Penza) Cisternelli, Mrs. Riganese was raised in Norwood and had lived in Plainville for many years before moving to Franklin 17 years ago.
She was a graduate of Norwood High School. Mrs. Rignanese had been a homemaker for most of her life but had worked for the Plainville Stock Company for several years many years ago.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Rignanese of Uxbridge and Diana Sabatini of Franklin; she was the mother of the late Jimmy Rignanese. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Judy Riganense of Cumberland, RI, her sister, Josephine “Chippy” Eardly of Canton and her grandchildren, Jenna Rignanese and Brett, Shannon and Casey Sabatini.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, April 26 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in North Attleboro.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
