WEBSTER – Regina “Reggie”(Wladyslawski) Mikolajczak, of Webster, passed unexpectedly Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. Her husband of 63 years, Anthony J. “Boo Tony” Mikolajczak, passed January 27, 2008.
She leaves her beloved sister, Lottie R. Zisk; her loving niece and caregiver, Christina Zisk, with whom she lived; Claire, whose special name for Reggie was “Rosebud”; a brother-in-law, John Mikolajczak and his wife Ruth, all of Webster; nieces and nephews; and Shadow. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Raymond Wladylslawski in 1936 and Selectman Joseph “Butch” Wladyslawski in 1980.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of Antoni and Rozalia (Nalewajk) Wladyslawski and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1936.
Mrs. Mikolajczak was a secretary at Cranston Print Works Company in Webster and then at the American Optical Company in Southbridge for over 25 years before retiring in 1978.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and its Holy Rosary Sodality, its Sacred Heart Society and its Saint Ann Society. She belonged and regularly participated in the Black Tavern Historical Society in Dudley, where her husband rang the bell to call in the visiting school children. She belonged to the Webster PNA Lodge # 1063 and the Worcester PNA & Council # 111. She enjoyed crocheting quilts, shopping and going to flea markets with her husband Tony. She loved her daily walks, dancing (“shaking her bootie”), Polkas, outdoor concerts and living life to the fullest.
Reggie enjoyed people, especially children. She greeted them with hugs and kisses and that warm smile of hers.
The funeral will be held Monday, April 26, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. A calling period will be from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Monday, April 26, before the Mass.
