Henry J. Bourgault, 82, of Granite Ridge died January 8, 2002 at his winter home in Mesa Arizona. He was born in Laconia on November 6, 1919, the son of Lorenzo and Albertine (Parent) Bourgault. He resided in Laconia for most of his life.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an interpreter for French Air Force personnel being trained as aircraft mechanics.
Mr. Bourgault was a sales representative for NH Distributors selling Budweiser and was known locally as “The Bud Man”. He retired in 1980 after 32 years with the company.
“Hank” and his wife Kay wintered in Arizona for 22 years. He enjoyed working as the scorekeeper for the San Francisco Giants spring training games for many years.
Family members include his wife of 61 years, Katherine (Hidden) Bourgault; a daughter, Nancy Golden of Laconia; two sons, Paul H. Bourgault and Thomas H. Bourgault, both of Eugene, Oregon; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Leopold Bourgault of Alton Bay; a sister, Rita Plourde of Laconia; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church in the spring. The Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Laconia is assisting the family with arrangements.
