RAYNHAM – Adolfo M. Resendes, 64, died on April 20, 2010 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, following a recent industrial accident.
He was the husband of Olga M. (Sousa) Resendes, to whom he was married for the past 36 years.
Born in Achada, St. Michael, Azores, the son of the late Jose S. and Maria M. (Sousa) Resendes, he was raised and educated in Portugal and served in the Portuguese Army, before moving to the Taunton area in 1974.
For the past 28 years, he was employed by the Harodite Finishing Company as a machine operator.
A communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton, Mr. Resendes enjoyed spending time with his family.
Besides his wife of Raynham, he leaves two sons, Paul S. Resendes, and Jason Resendes and his wife Colleen, all of Raynham; two brothers, Joao M. Sousa of St. Michael, and Jose Sousa of Canada; two sisters, Gloria Silva of New Bedford and Maria Jose Sousa of St. Michael; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the bother of the late Antonio Sousa and Raquel Sousa.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Saturday, April 24th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church, East Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 23rd from 5 to 8 p.m.
