Obituary

Dorothy Alice Callahan, passed away Tuesday, October 21, at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in Billerica, following a extended illness. She was the wife of the late Gerald E. Callahan who died in 1973, she was eighty-seven years old.

Born and raised in Medford she was the daughter of the late Anna F. (Rynne) and David A. Brown. Dot was a Medford High School Graduate, she was dedicated to raising her family, active in St. Francis of Assisi mothers club, and a good goverment advocate in the Medford community.

Surviving are her five sons; Gerald E. Jr. and his wife Marie of CA., Michael J., Governor´s Councilor of Medford, John J. and his wife Rosalind of Wyoming, Joseph G. of Boston, James T. and his wife Marianne of Lowell, and Matthew C. and his friend Mary Gray of RI. Two daughters; Dorothy A. MacAdams and her husband Gerald of No. Reading, Maureen R. Sampson and her husband John of Wilmington, Her daughter in law Louise Callahan of NH. Also fifteen loving grandchildren and fourteen loving great grandchildren.

Dorothy was predeceased by her son David M. Callahan, her two sisters, Ruth Devlin and Esther Theide, two brothers, David A. Brown Jr. and Frederick Brown.

Her funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Friday October 24, at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford at 11. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Thursday, October 23, from 2-4 & 7-9

It has been requested that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy be sent in Dot´s memory to the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Building Fund 441 Fellsway West, Medford, MA 02155
