Marcelle (mama) Roy, a longtime resident of the Laurel Center in Bedford, NH, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 19, 2010.
She was the widow of Robert N. Roy. Marcelle was a longtime resident of Methuen, MA and Derry, NH. She was retired from Raytheon in Andover, MA. Dancing, crocheting and making jigsaw puzzles were some of her favorite pastimes. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time at Lake Winnipesauke, canoeing and fishing for hornpout.
Marcelle leaves behind a daughter, Dianne and her husband Charles Ashford of Londonderry, NH, a son, Thomas and his wife Sharon Goulet of Winter Garden, FL, six grandchildren, Katie McGarry, Donna Hughes, Ernest Ashford, Robert Ashford, Nancy Foster and Kristen Umbro, 11 great-grandchildren, Patrick and Maggi McGarry, Zachary Hughes, Randall, Abigail, Rachael, Hannah and Rhylee Ashford, Devon Plourde, Courtney Foster and Anthony Umbro.
Friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 22nd, 2010 at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor on Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Monica’s Parish, Methuen. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, MA/NH Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
