Obituary

Dr. Boris Pukay, 83, of Farmholme Road, Stonington, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2010.

Born on January 1, 1927 to John and Anna Pukay in Yorkville, OH. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He attended Ohio University in Athens, OH where he received his Bachelor of Science in 1950 and was a member of Phi Mu Alpha fraternity and Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated from Ohio State University medical School in Columbus.

From 1969 until his retirement in 1995, Dr. Pukay operated his family medical practice, serving the community at 21 E. Main Street in mystic where he also resided with his wife, Emogene and family. Dr. Pukay also served as the state medical examiner for New London County for many years.

Besides his wife, Dr. Pukay is survived by his sister, Zenovia of Berkley, MI and ten of his eleven children; Kenny Pukay of Louisville, KY, Mike Pukay of Twinsburg, OH, Becky Fuchs of Raleigh, NC, Steven Pukay of Baton Rouge, LA, Cheryl Brennan of Pawcatuck, Randy Pukay of Bucksport, ME, Valerie Gingerella of Westerly, Melanie Deak of Cranston, RI, Vaughn Pukay of Norwich, Christine Bilobram of Sandown, NH,; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joanne.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at St. Mark’s Church, Mystic on Friday, April 23rd at 1pm.
