Alicia R. “Alice” Contrado, of Arlington and Medford, died at home Wednesday. She was 87.
Born and raised in Boston’s North End, Alice was the daughter of the late Carl and the late Carmella (Vardaro) Contrado. A Medford resident for most of her life, Alice worked as a piece- work stitcher until her retirement. A member of the Saint Lucy Society in the North End, Alice enjoyed travel and spending time with her family and friends. For the past few years she lived in Arlington with her sister Nellie who passed away several months ago.
She was the sister of the late Phyllis Freni and Nellie Summa. She was a devoted aunt to Janice DeRosa of Medford and Anthony Freni of Raynham. She also leaves many dear great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday April 19 from 5 thru 8 PM. Procession will gather Tuesday April 20th at 9 Am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, Medford, at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
