BEVERLY FARMS: Richard W. “Dick” Gray, 56, died peacefully, Thursday, April 15, 2010 in the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Beverly on June 24, 1953, he was the beloved son of Warren A. Gray of Beverly Farms and the late Norma “Gerry” (Burchstead) Gray who died in 2005. Dick was a lifelong resident of Beverly. He enjoyed swimming and especially camping throughout New England and Canada. He will be affectionately remembered as a fun loving guy with a great sense of humor.
In addition to his father, Dick is survived by his loving sister, Nancy Gray of Beverly Farms, beloved brothers, David and his wife, Cyndy Gray of Manchester-by-the-Sea and Robert Gray of Beverly Farms, a niece, Jessica Gray, three nephews, Daniel, David and Joseph Gray, a special aunt and uncle, Barbara and Dick McGann and their family, Bill and Bob McGann and Beth LeBel and his longtime friend, Beth Tonneson of Park City, Utah. Dick is also survived by his loving and caring family at the group home he resided at.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday in the St. John’s Episcopal Church, 705 Hale St., Beverly Farms at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114. Interment will be held in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Manchester-by-the-Sea.
