Beryl A. Miller, 74, lifelong resident of Derry, NH died Tuesday April 13, 2010 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. Beryl was born in Derry on June 18, 1935, daughter of the late Omer and Renza (Chaplin) Newcomb. She was the owner and operator of Beryl's Beauty Salon in Derry for many years. She was a Past Noble Grand of the Mizpah Rebekah Lodge #15 in Derry, and Past District Deputy of District #4. Beryl also served as Past Grand Matriarch of the Ladies Encampment Auxiliary. In her younger days, Beryl enjoyed square dancing.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela J. Crawford and her husband Ronald of Derry, two grandchildren, Shelly Crawford of Londonderry, NH, Charles Crawford of Derry, three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Brett and Brayden Crawford, her sister, Linda Phelps of Chester, NH, her brother, Wayne Newcomb of Allenstown, NH, her longtime companion, Bodo Schrader, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward C. Miller in 1989 and by her two brothers, Neil and Basil Newcomb.
Calling hours were held on Friday April 16, 2010 from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
