Peter A. Leardi, 80, of Worcester and West Palm Beach, FL died Tuesday, March 30 in John F. Kennedy Medical Center, Atlantis, FL after a long illness.
He leaves his devoted wife of 33 years, Marilyn J. (Tibbetts) Leardi, two sons Peter Leardi and his wife Alicia of Hawaii, Perry Leardi and his wife Kristine of Northbridge, a daughter Angela “Tina” Leardi of Holliston, his wife’s children whom Pete considered his own; Andrew Daigneault of Portage, Wisconsin, Richard Daigneault and his wife Dawna of Oxford, Michelle Hannan of Worcester, Jeannine Sudol and her husband Mark of Westborough, Gina Sabatini of Sutton, a brother Domenic Leardi and his wife Jean of Worcester, a sister Marie Urella of Worcester, 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by a brother Alfred Leardi.
Mr. Leardi was born in Worcester, son of Casto and Angela (Monopoli) Leardi. He graduated from Commerce High School. He worked for many years in his family’s business Paris Cleaners in Worcester. He then was in sales at the former Thom McCann Shoe Co. and ended his career in sales for Cable Television. He served in the United States Army. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed playing poker. Pete’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 16 at 6:00 PM in MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:30-6:00 PM Friday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
