New Bedford- Peter J. Martin age 53, died on Tuesday April 13, 2010 at home after a long illness. Mr. Martin was the husband of Lucille J. (Vieira) Martin of New Bedford. Peter was the father of Christopher D. and James A. Martin both of New Bedford and the late David A. Martin. Peter was the grandfather of Jaiden J. Martin. He was the brother of Diane Cyr of Fairhaven. Peter was the son-in-law of Rose Marie Vieira and the step son-in-law of Arthur Ribeiro. He was the uncle of Nichole Cyr.
Mr. Martin was the son of the late Jean (Alexander) and Armand J. Martin. He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of his life. Peter was a member of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ.
Mr. Martin’s funeral will be from Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Saturday at 9:30 A.M. with a service to begin at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, In accordance with his wishes he then will be cremated. His Cremains will then be interred at Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.
