Alfred A. Dainef, Jr., 82, of Oak Hill Drive, Cumberland, died Tuesday, April 6th, 2010 at Briarcliffe Manor Nursing Home in Johnston. He was the husband of Theresa A. (Boyer) Dainef. They were married on July 3, 1948.
Born in Woonsocket, he was son of the late Alfred A. and Rita (Viens) Dainef. He was raised in Woonsocket and resided in Cumberland for over 45 years.
Mr. Dainef served in the Navy with the Seabees. Following his service he was employed at the Stamina Mills, Atlantic Wool Combing, and GAF in Franklin before retiring. He enjoyed playing cards and golf.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Douglas Dainef of North Smithfield, and Paul Dainef of Cumberland, three daughters, Sandra Doire and Louise Gilchrist, both of Cumberland, and Katherine Gilchrist of Pawtucket. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and his sister, Georgette Gardiner of Glendale.
Services and burial are private. Arrangements are by the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket.
