Obituary

WORCESTER _____Olga Pawlina passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord on Friday, April 9th surrounded by those who truly loved and cared for her during her long struggle with a terminal disease. Her husband of 64 years, Alexander W. Pawlina, died in 2008. She leaves her loving and devoted daughter, Patricia Pawlina, and her beloved granddaughter, Rachel Pawlina, who always had a special place in her heart. She also leaves a son Al, his wife Def, two sisters-in-law, Rita Pawlina and Natalie Rudzinski and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Killingly, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Adolph and Mary (Procopyozyn) Hryniok. Her sister Helen Wolk, pre-deceased her. Olga was a professional seamstress for many years and worked at several retail stores until her retirement. She was an accomplished stained glass artisan and enjoyed oil painting. She enjoyed traveling for many years to a summer home on Cape Cod with her daughter and granddaughter. Sewing, gardening, and cooking, especially Polish foods, were her passion, & then passing her knowledge onto her daughter. She loved her children and most importantly her granddaughter whom she helped raise, making them the highest priority in her life. She will be missed more than words can describe. Her thoughtful, loving and gentle spirit will be remembered by all whose hearts and lives she touched. She was a life-long member of St. John’s Church, Worcester. A special thank you to all the staff on the ACU at Golden Living - The Hermitage in Worcester, for their loving care, and, with heart-felt gratitude, to the team from Ascera Care Hospice who provided care and support to Olga and her daughter during this difficult time.
Olga requested there were to be no calling hours. The funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 15th at 10:00 A.M. in St. John’s Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester.
