Obituary

FRANKLIN—William J. Simpson 84, of Franklin, died Saturday April 10, 2010 at home following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Sofie M. (Ley) Simpson who died January 24, 2010.
Born in Franklin September 12, 1925 a son of the late Leon E. & Mary E. (Gillespie) Simpson, he had been a lifelong resident of Franklin.
Educated in Franklin schools, he worked as a carpenter and later as a supervisor at Minuteman Engineering until his retirement.
Mr. Simpson Served in the United States Army during the Korean War and attained the rank of Corporal and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal & the Army of Occupation Medal. He was honorably discharged in February 1955.
He was a Life Member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post #225 Wrentham, MA and enjoyed reading and spending time with his family.
He is survived by 2 sons; Karl W. Simpson and his wife Maureen of Franklin & Mark J. Simpson and his wife Wendy of Cambridge, a sister Margaret M. “Peg” Simpson of Franklin, and 2 grandchildren Rebecca & Eric Simpson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday April 13th, from 6-8PM at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin www.oterifuneralhome.com.
Funeral services and interment will be held privately.
