Ronald Anthony DiMillio, 72 years old of Brockton died Saturday April 10, 2010 at Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton after a period of failing health. He was born in Providence, RI., son of the late Anthony and Mary (Morris) DiMillio. Ron was a graduate of Hope High School where he played hockey. After high school, Ron married his high school sweetheart Maureen (Sabins) and left for duty in the U.S. Army, stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany. After his armed service duty, Ron went on to a long career in sales. Ron worked at the Outlet Company in Providence, RI. He was offered a position with Lechmere Sales in Cambridge when he moved his young family to Massachusetts. For 25 years he had been the Lighting and Carpet Buyer for Lechmere. Ron worked as a traveling salesman for various lighting manufacturers out of New York State, representing them in New England until his retirement in 1990. Ron was an avid sports fan and participant, spending many years playing hockey with his childhood friends on the Warwick Warriors even traveling to Canada for a friendly hockey match. Ron enjoyed his many trips to Ireland with his wife and cousins.
Ron is survived by his wife of 52 years Maureen (Sabins) DiMillio, a daughter Dona Lacouture and her husband Phillip, two sons, Richard DiMillio and his wife Louann and Mark DiMillio and his wife Annette. He was the father of the late Kevin DiMillio. Loving Papa to Janelle, Joshua, Ariana, Aaron, Markie and Phillip. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 9am. Funeral Mass in Christ The King Parish, Brockton at 10am. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8pm. Burial at a later date in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI.
