Mr. Billy Louis Ring, age 73, of Siloam, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at his home. He was born in Surry County on July 9, 1936 to Martha Emma Shinault Ring and the late William Henry Ring. Mr. Ring was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend as well as a retired diesel mechanic for Hennis/Spector, a member of Pine Hill Friends Church and served as a Military Policeman for the United States Army. Mr. Ring is survived by his loving wife, Gaynell Ring; mother, Martha Emma Shinault Ring; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Dale Johnson of Dobson, Kim and Terry Pratt of Siloam, Sheila and Michael Creed of Ararat; one brother, Bobby Ring of Siloam, four grandchildren, Adam (Megan) Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Laken and Luke Creed; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Jacob Johnson; and several special nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Pine Hill Friends Church at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Michael Thames and the Rev. Billy Britt officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery with full Military Honors by the VFW Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and VFW Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain.
Family will receive friends on Friday, April 9, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home and other times at the Ring home.
