Leon W. “ Bill” Larrivee, age 87 of Swansea, passed away in Somerset, April 8, 2010. Widower of Evelyn (Souza) Larrivee and the son of the late George and Georgianna (Charest) Larrivee. Before retiring, Mr. Larrivee worked as a Welder at Quincy Shipyard; previously, he worked at Tower Ironworks, Firestone, and Matthew Oil. He was a member of the American Legion Post #303 of Swansea, and the Swansea Council on Aging. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, & a Purple Heart Recipient. He was also a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Swansea.
He is survived by his two children: Michele Silvia & her fiancée John Pappas of Berkley & Douglas Larrivee of Swansea. One grandson: Jason Silvia & his wife Stephanie. One great granddaughter: Ella Grace Silvia and several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph, George, and Napoleon Larrivee.
Following Cremation, relatives & friends are invited to attend Leon’s Funeral Mass THURSDAY at 10:00 A.M. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Swansea. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
