Michael P. Shalgian, 98, of Rockland, died Tuesday April 6th in the Braemoor Nursing & Rehab Center in Brockton, after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Viola (Osborne) Shalgian.
Mike was born in Marlboro, son of the late Vahan and Elizabeth ( Partan) Shalgian.
Mike was a resident of Rockland for over 50 years and he worked as a machinist for the Vulplex Manufacturing Company in North Abington for many years
Michael was a devoted, hard working, family man.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Maureen Sullivan and her husband Daniel of Middleboro, Nancy Doherty and her husband Michael of NC and Kathleen Nichols and her husband James of Whitman. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was also the father of the late Carol Landreville and he was predeceased by 6 siblings.
His funeral service will be held Saturday April 10th at 9:45 from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 AM in the St Joseph the Worker Church, Maquan St, Hanson, MA Burial will follow in the Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson. Visiting hours will be held Friday April 9th 4-7 PM.
