Helen T. Decocq, a lifelong resident of Lawrence and beloved wife of the late Marcel R. Decocq, died at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on April 6, 2010. She was 90 years old.
Helen was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts and resided there until moving to Salem Haven Nursing Home in Salem, New Hampshire seven years ago. Helen was a graduate of Holy Trinity School and Lawrence High School. She was retired from IT&T and was a long time communicant of St. Patrick Church in Lawrence.
She was the devoted mother of Marceline and her husband Fred Bertelsen of New Hampshire, Alfred and his wife Mary Ellen Decocq of North Carolina and Richard Decocq of Massachusetts. She was the loving sister of the late Mary and her husband Edward Gaudes of Lawrence and Alfred and his wife Joanne Liszewski of Haverhill. Loving and proud grandmother of Kristin, Nicole, Jacqueline and Zachary.
Relatives and friends attended her Funeral Mass of Friday, April 9, 2010, at St. Michael Church, North Andover at 11 AM. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Thursday, April 8, 2010, from 5 to 8 PM. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
