Obituary

Salem: Emily L. (Ferullo) Boucher age 89 of Salem, died Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edgar J. Boucher, with whom she had shared 59 years of marriage, at the time of his death in July of 2009.

Born in Boston and raised in Winthrop, she was the daughter of the late Gene and Lidia (Luongo) Ferullo. A graduate of Winthrop High School, Emily first worked for American Optical of East Boston. She and Edgar were married in 1950 and the couple settled in Winthrop. In 1962 she began working for Rich’s Department Store as a department manager in the girls department, until her retirement in 1985.

Emily and Edgar moved to Salem in 1963, and were members of the former St. Joseph Parish of Salem. Emily loved to travel and was especially devoted to her family.

She is survived by a son, Thomas J. Boucher and his wife Mary I. of Byfield, 3 grandchildren, Christine M., Thomas J., II and Michael J. Boucher all of Byfield, a sister, Nancy St. George and her husband Edward of Peabody, a sister-in-law Gloria Ferullo of Winthrop and also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Pat and Cosmo Ferullo.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Friday, April 9, 2010, at 9 a.m. to be followed by her funeral mass in St. James Church, Federal St., Salem at 10 a.m. Visiting hours: Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
