Celestina “Sally” Pires, age 97 of Fall River passed away April 2, 2010. Widow of John R. Pires and daughter of the late Manuel and Rose (Moniz) Ormond, she attended Thibodeau Business School and before retiring, worked at Providence Pile as a mender & cloth inspector. Previously, she worked in the offices of Sears & Roebuck and the Mason Furniture Co. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church, their Sunday Evening Club and Terry Club and the Cosmo Cupulo Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by nephews: Daniel Michaels of Westport, John Amaral of Little River, SC., John Veira of Rochester, niece Cindy Hackett of Warwick, RI. and several grand nephews and nieces. She was sister of the late Rose O. Michaels, Argentina “Jeanne” Amaral and Aurelina Veira.
