Raymond Lawrence “Larry” Burke age 68 of Salem, NH, died Thursday at the Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, MA after a long illness.
He was born in Methuen, MA, where he grew up and was educated. He graduated from Methuen High School in 1953, Dale Carnegie, and he graduated Suma Cum Laude from New Hampshire College. He was a resident of Salem, NH for the past 37 years.
Mr. Burke served his country in the United States Air Force as an Electronics Communications Specialist and he was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of the Salem VFW Post #8546. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Salem, NH, and he was formerly involved with the Cursillo at St. Basil’s.
Mr. Burke retired as the Director of Quality for the DOD North East Region at Lockeed Sanders after 35 years of service located in Nashua, NH.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Pauline I. (Quintal) Burke
He is survived by 5 Sons: Michael Burke of Salem, NH Christopher & his wife Linda Burke of Manchester, NH Augustine & his wife Lee Burke of Salem, NH Raymond Burke of Little Rock, AR Joshua Burke of Salem, NH
4 Daughters: Justine Kirby of Indiana Regina & her husband Edward Howard of Manchester, NH Elizabeth & her husband Gregg Dawson of Salem, NH Lydia Burke of Salem, NH
1 Brother: William Burke of Salem, NH
19 Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 AM at St. Joseph Church, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 3-6 PM and Monday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
