FALL RIVER … Irene C. Gillet, 94, of Fall River died at home Sunday, April 4, 2010.
She was born in Fall River a daughter of the late Henry and Mary Lydia (Berry) Gillet and had lived most of her life in Fall River.
She was a Communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Thomas Street, Fall River and was a member of the Miraculous Medal Society and the Women’s Guild for many years.
She was a shirt maker with the former Shelbourne Shirt, a dressmaker at N.B.C. Garment and also was employed by Tremblay Bus as a van driver for special needs children. She attended B.M.C. Durfee High School.
She is survived by her Godchild, niece and caregiver of many years, Pauline Feliciano, her great-niece and caregiver, Melissa Feliciano, and many other nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Henry S. Gillet, Anthony Gillet, Elizabeth (Gillet) Duffy, John Gillet, Frank Gillet, Angelina (Gillet) Bergeron, Cassian Gillet, Arcade Gillet, James S. Gillet, and William Gillet.
She will always have a special place in the hearts of many of us.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday at 9 AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Thomas Street, Fall River. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours Thursday 9 – 10:30 AM.
