Obituary

Adelaide (Sousa) Cabral, of New Bedford died April 1, 2010 at Sacred Heart Home after a period of declining health.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Anastacio Sousa and Julia (Lewis) Sousa Martin, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mrs. Cabral was formerly employed by Morse Twist Drill for many years until retirement.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Judith Wamsley of New Bedford and Virginia Galley and her husband Robert of Dartmouth; 2 brothers, Albert Martin and Richard Martin, both of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Gerald Souza and Christopher Souza, both of New Bedford; 2 great-grandchildren, Ian Souza of Dartmouth and Sarah Souza of New Bedford; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Samantha Moniz and Felicia Moniz; a nephew, Steve Martin; several cousins including Lillian Perrone and Abel Jacintho, both of New Bedford.
She was the sister of the late George Sousa and the step-sister of the late Christine Medeiros.
Her private Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, April 5th in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
