Blanche (Guillemette) Purcell, of Taunton, died Monday, March 29 in Morton Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born 75 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Catherine (Twardoski) Guillemette. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, she
had been employed as a silversmith at Reed and Barton Silversmiths for many years. She had previously been employed at the former Classic Jewelry of Taunton for a number of years. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, fishing and going to the beach.
She was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Church in Taunton.
She leaves:
1 sister: Jeanne Cross and her husband, Robert of Raynham
2 grandchildren: Christopher McLaughlin of Taunton
Melonie McLaughlin of Fall River
4 great grandchildren
several nieces and nephews
Blanche was also the mother of the late Lynne McLaughlin of Taunton and sister of the late Richard Guillemette and Francis “Butch” Guillemette.
Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.
