David L. McCabe, 67, passed away suddenly on April 1st, 2010. He was born in Medford on March 31st, 1943 to his parents Leo and Grace (Leonard) McCabe. David was raised and educated in Medford, graduating from Medford High School, Class of 1961. He is also a graduate of Bentley College, Class of 1963. David worked as a Field Accountant for the Maycumber Construction Company. After working in the accounting field for many years, he chose a different career path and became a construction supervisor. He worked for several different companies in the local area. Upon his retirement, he remained active by joining the staff at Shaw’s Supermarket in Stoneham. David has been a resident of Saugus for the past 30 years. He was a former member of the Irish American Club in Malden and was also a former member of the Massachusetts National Guard. He is survived by his wife, Carol-Ann (Morrison) McCabe; by his children, Tracey McCabe of Lynn and Brian McCabe and his wife Erin of Saugus; by his grandchildren, Deanna Nasson and Brendan and Kyliegh McCabe; by his sister-in-law Patricia McCabe of Wrentham; his brother-in-law James Morrison of Irvine, California and by his sister-in-law Donna Morrison of Irvine, California. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, David was predeceased by his brother Robert McCabe. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Tuesday April 6th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Florence Church in Wakefield at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in West Peabody. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday April 5th from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
