Barbara Jean (Ellison) Carlson, 83 formerly of Walpole died March 30 in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. She was the wife of the late Fred Carlson who died in 2005.
Born in Walpole, May 2, 1926, Mrs. Carlson was raised and lived in Walpole until five years ago when she moved to Wrentham and Foxboro where she lived until three months ago when she moved to West Virginia.
Mrs. Carlson had been a librarian at the Walpole Public Library for over 20 years.
Mrs. Carlson was an avid reader and had enjoyed knitting.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald A. Carlson of Huntington, West Virginia, Richard A. Carlson of Tewksbury and David E. Carlson of Foxboro.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jon, James, Jennifer and Mathew Carlson and her great-grandson, Aidan Carlson.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 7 in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will be in Rural Cemetery in Walpole.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
