In East Taunton, April 2, 2010 Evelyn A. Hamel, age 81, passed away in her home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Roger Hamel. Evelyn was born in Taunton to her late parents Giacomo & Elvira (Delsolio) Fasciolo. Evelyn was educated in a convent in Ovada, Italy until age 17. She was employed at Texas Instruments and a CNA at Lakeville Hospital until her retirement. She enjoyed doing monthly food baskets at the Winthrop St. Baptist Church, gardening, shopping, playing bingo, crossword puzzles, going to N.H. and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her children: Sandra Seekell, Mark Seekell & his wife Valerie, Jane Remedis all of Taunton. John C. Seekell of Conway, N.H. and the late James P. Seekell of Middleboro. Her step children Raymond Hamel, Jeanette Pitts, Jeanne Juilian and grandchildren. Grandmother of Jade Lyn Butler of Taunton, Christopher Seekell of Boston, Adam Seekell of Seekonk and mother Suzanne, Joseph and his wife Amanda and Joshua Remedis and father Joseph Remedis, Shannon Thomas of Taunton, Shaina Jilian of CA., Michelle Pitts of Carver, Nicole, Jaclyn, Chelsea Seekell and mother Laurie Hoffman of Conway, N.H. and the late Jeffrey Scott Seekell and Jason Hamel. Great grandmother to Aiden Seekell of Rehobeth, baby Kylee Remedis of Taunton and Madison Brook Thornton. Her sister–in-law Connie Campanilli, brother-in-law Roland and Jane Hamel, Diane and Donald, Dickey Ducasse all of ME. Aunt of Donna MacDonald of Attleboro, Cynthia Ebling of R.I. and Paula Zadina of R.I. and her special family friends Smitty and Rennie. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton on Tuesday, April 6th at 9am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Church at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday from 4-7pm. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
