WORCESTER-Sheila L. (Bergeron) Howe, 57, of 120 Ararat Street died October 16th in UMass Memorial Medical Center-Memorial Campus due to acute renal failure. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Lori-Ann (Howe) DeMarco with whom she lived and Robin M. (Howe), wife of David T. Murphy and her two adoring grandchildren, Megan C. and Kevin D. Murphy all of Shrewsbury; her sister, Bernadette Hayes of Athol; aunts; cousins; nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews. Her former husband, James J. Howe, Jr. predeceased her in 1994.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Elliot L. Bergeron and Marie E. (McAdam) Bergeron Cuddeback and attended Burncoat High School. She later earned her GED and graduated from the Quinsigamond Community College Nursing Program with honors in 1980. Sheila worked as a registered nurse at Hahnemann Hospital for 14 years and then worked at Memorial Hospital after their merger until 1999, being ill with diabetes and renal failure. In healthier times, Sheila enjoyed gardening, cooking and recipe collecting, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
The funeral will be Saturday, October 18th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Bernard Church, 228 Lincoln Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday, October 17th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
