Obituary

Richard F. Cook, 66, of North Palm Beach, Florida (formally of Plymouth), passed away March 26th from natural causes. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Dianne (Daley) Cook, his beloved daughter Christine (Cook) DaLuz, and son in law Roger and their two children Joshua and Brody of New Bedford, his son Brian and daughter in law Melissa (James) Cook and their three children Cameron, Colin, and Colleen of Needham, his son David and daughter in law Alexis (Vitti) Cook of Manhattan, N.Y.

Also survived by sisters Joan and husband Ted Meehan, Elaine and husband Kenneth Kuhns, Judy Villa, Janet Cook, Donna Oneil, and his brother Gary and wife Joanne Cook. Brother in law of Barbara Staruski and her late husband Paul. Brother in law of Barbara Daley, and late husband Michael.

Preceded in death by brothers Alan and Kenneth, sisters Theresa Connolly and Anne Marie Floyd. As well as Father and Mother in law Michael and Harriet Daley.

Richard was born in Boston, and formally resided on Sharps Drive in Plymouth for 18 years. He was the son of the late Stephen and Mildred Cook of Hyde Park.

Richard graduated from Don Bosco High School in 1961. He then went on to graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in Nuclear Engineering. For the next 35 years he worked as a Nuclear engineer at Yankee Atomic in Rowe, and for Boston Edison at the Pilgrim Power Plant in Plymouth. During this time he received the esteemed (SRO) Senior Reactor Operator’s License, which enabled him to run nuclear power plants. For the past several years Richard worked as a Nuclear Engineering Consultant at various locations around the country. This newfound passion allowed him to travel with his wife, which brought him much happiness.

Richard loved spending time with his wife, 3 children, 5 grandchildren, extended family and friends. He loved watching the boats pass by at his home in Florida, which he so beautifully called “Paradise”.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 6th at St. Bonaventure’s Church at 11 am followed by burial at Manomet Cemetery. The calling hours will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. on Monday April 5th at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road (Rte 3A), Plymouth (Manomet).
