Obituary

Ronald F. Harris, 72 years, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died March 28, 2010 following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Beverly R. (Goodyear) Harris with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in Dorchester, October 20, 1938, he was the son of the late Vernon C. and Mildred M. (Burnell) Harris. Ron enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1957 and became a Sergeant and was proud of his service. He was employed for 30 years in the US Postal Service and became a supervisor in Braintree. In 1996 he retired from the Post Office and became a substitute teacher at Brockton High School. Ron enjoyed playing golf and worked at the Rockland Golf Course as well. He was a Eucharistic Minister at Christ the King Parish and Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons Ronald K. Harris of California and Sean P. Harris and his wife Carla of Bridgewater; his precious grandchildren who he loved dearly, Jonathan, Sean Matthew, Brooke and Kevin. He also leaves his sisters Mildred Smith of Georgia, Dorothy Redicare of Pembroke, Grace Ganno of Quincy; his brothers Edward Harris of California, Richard and his wife Maureen of Revere, Paul of Quincy; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 10 am with cremation to follow. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
