Obituary

Salem, NH – Eunice B. Courtemanche, 91, a retired homecare worker, died March 25, 2010 at the Salem Haven Nursing Home after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Pelham, NH, Mrs. Courtemanche had been a Salem resident for many years. She was a beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
In her younger years, she enjoyed crocheting afghans and she loved to bake desserts for family birthdays and holidays. Everyone used to laugh about her stories as a child or of the kids growing up.

During her later years she enjoyed reading mystery novels, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, watching her favorite soaps, westerns, and especially her much-loved Boston Red Sox. The family would like to thank all her special friends and the nursing staff who cared for her at Salem Haven.

Mrs. Courtemanche is predeceased by her parents Harry & Lottie Fairbanks, Pelham, NH; husband, Leo H. Courtemanche, Salem, NH; brothers, Elmer (Ted), Roy, Harry, Bryant, and Clifton Fairbanks; daughters, Betty Williams, Lisbon, NH and Sandra Dickey (March 11, 2010), Salem, NH; granddaughter, Robin Schofield, Littleton, NH; and grandson, Bryant Courtemanche, Monterey, CA.
She is survived by her children: Leon K. (Ken) & Linda Courtemanche, Danville, NH; Wayne & Velma Courtemanche, Monterey, CA; Pamela & John Drogo, Nashua, NH; Jeffrey Courtemanche, Manchester, NH and daughter-in-law, Debra Courtemanche, Salem, NH.

Grandchildren: Randy Rugar, Robert Rugar, David Rugar, Lisa Rugar, James Rugar, Jane Schofield, Roberta Dickey, Donna Kelleher, Lynn Landry, MaryAnn Dickey, Ruthie Ashley, Dianna Goncalvez, Joseph Courtemanche, Michael Wells, Laura Chatila, and Melissa Courtemanche.
Great-grandchildren: Beverly Aldrich, Jennifer Rugar , Randy Rugar, Robert Rugar, Heidi D’Amato, Sarah Bean, Krystle Dow, Shawna Schofield, Nicole Rugar, James Jr. Rugar, Brandon Rugar, Hunter Rugar, James Rugar, Cody Rugar, Kristin Kelleher, Amanda Landry, Amy Landry, Matthew Landry, Anthony Goncalvez, Matthew Goncalvez, Joshua Goncalvaz, Angela Goncalvez, Austin Wells, and Liam Wells. Great-great grandchildren: Isabella D’Amato, Xander D’Amato, and Olivia Dow.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 1pm at the Gibson Cemetery, Pelham, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Salem Haven Nursing Home would be greatly appreciated.
