Rea Silberstein, 95 passed away on March 27, 2010 at the Ledgewood Nursing Home in Beverly. She was born in Bangor, ME, resided in Chelsea for 60 years and had lived in Lynn since 1987. Rea was educated in the Chelsea school system and graduated from Chelsea High School. Rea worked as a salesperson for Jewel Craft in Wakefield. She was a member of the sisterhood at Temple Emanuel in Chelsea.
Rea was the beloved wife of the late Frank Silberstein. She was the devoted mother of Judith Greenblatt and her husband Bennett, Phyllis Silberstein, and Karen Stearn and her husband Michael. She was the dear sister of Samuel Goldman and the late Jenny Kaplan, Maurice Goldman, Hyman Goldman and Ann Indeck. Rea was the loving grandmother of five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Linas Hatzedeck #2 Cemetery, 232 Fuller St. Everett Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11:30 AM. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Karen and Michael Stearn on Monday following interment. Donations in her memory may be made to the Ledgewood Nursing Home, 87 Herrick St. Beverly, MA 01915 or to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St. Danvers, MA 01923.
