AMESBURY- J. Donald “Don” Robson, Jr., 67, husband of Sandra L. (Chabot) Robson, of Amesbury, formerly of Topsfield, died Monday, October 13, 2003 at his home following a short illness.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late James Donald Robson, Sr. and Mary L. (Burkinshaw) Robson.
Raised in Lynn, he was a graduate of Lynn English High School where he was a member of the track and baseball teams. He was a resident of Topsfield for 20 years before moving to Amesbury 8 years ago.
Mr. Robson owned and operated American Bridge Railings, Inc. in Lynn, a business he founded in 1972 and continued to run even during the latest stages of his illness.
An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of the York Golf & Tennis Club in York, Maine.
Besides his wife, with whom he shared over 47 years of marriage, he is survived by three sons, James Donald Robson III and his wife Suzanne, of Leicester, Mark D. Robson of Boston, Stephan J. and his wife Sonja Robson of Weston, Florida., one daughter, Beth Robson and her companion, Fredricka Cwikielnik, of Windham, New Hampshire, four grandchildren, Rachel Robson and James Donald Robson, IV, of Leicester, Stephan J. Robson, Jr. and Kristoff I. Robson, of Weston, Florida, one brother, Attorney Charles H. Robson of Lynn and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 17, 2003 at 10 am at St Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Lahey Clinic, c/o Philanthropy Department, 41 Mall Rd., Burlington, MA 01805.
