Obituary

Rev. Louis G. Lambert, Jr., 80, of Cumming, Georgia died Saturday, March 27, 2010 in Chelsea, Alabama.

Graveside services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. J.R. Holcomb officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

Rev. Lambert was born May 28, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Louis Lambert Sr. and Eunice Deal and was also reared by J.G. Stallings. He was a 1948 graduate of North Fulton High School and upon graduation enlisted in the United States Navy. Rev. Lambert attained a degree from Georgia State University and was then employed at Gordy Tire Company in Atlanta as a credit manager. He was graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and thereafter served as Pastor or Associate Pastor at numerous churches in Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio, including Zoar Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA, First Baptist Church in Camp Hill, AL, First Baptist Church in Newton Falls, OH, Pine Lake Baptist Church in Pine Lake, GA, Marie Baptist Church in Dublin, GA, Plainfield Baptist Church in Plainfield, GA and Toonigh Baptist Church in Woodstock, GA. Mr. Lambert served as Chaplain for R.T. Jones Hospital in Canton, Georgia and Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia for 10 years. He resided in Cumming, GA where he was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Susan Justice Lambert , Children: Mike (Suauan) Lambert of Chelsea, AL and Louisa (David) Holcomb of Cumming, GA; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Holcomb, Zach Holcomb, Perri Lambert and Colby Lambert; brothers and sister-in-laws Stanley (Connie) Lambert of Kennesaw, GA and Larry (Lynda) Justice of Martinez, CA as well as a niece Emily Justice of Martinez, CA.
