Obituary

Charles Ronald “Ronnie” Bussell, 73, of Mystic, Georgia died Thursday, March 25 at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.

Funeral services will be held 5 P.M., Sunday, 28, 2010 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will follow in Mystic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Bussell was born November 25, 1936 in Irwin County to the late Earnest McCrary and Gladys Matthews Bussell. He lived in Irwin County most of his life, graduating from Irwin County High School in 1955, where he was the star quarter back. Mr. Bussell attended Middle Georgia College in Cochran. He was a farmer, a retired locomotive engineer with CSX Railroad after 41 years of service, worked for the Rice Yard in Waycross and for the past ten years managed the Pine Street Farmers Market in Fitzgerald. Mr. Bussell served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife: Jackie Bussell of Mystic; daughters: Brigitte Braswell, Kim (Sam) Russell and Rhonda Haggard, all of Mystic; He was put in the Papa Club by: Brandy (Heath) Register, Sherrie Bussell, Christina (Jeremy) Venable, Steven Haggard, Dustin Russell, Lacey Braswell, Nikki Haggard, Deven Russell and Robbie Russell; great grandchildren: Heath Register, Jr., Hayden Register and Brayden Venable; brother: Billy (Gail) Bussell of Rochelle; sisters: Carolyn Willingham of Mystic and Cheryl Amodei of Fernandina Beach, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, J.C. Bussell and a sister, Mary Jeanette Bussell.
