Mayawati Mathur, 96, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at her home after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Krishna Gopal. Born in Meerut Upi, India, she was a resident of Sharon since 1971. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Mathur was an excellent cook, specializing in Indian food. A lover of birds, in her free time, she enjoyed gardening and growing vegetables, sewing and crocheting. Mrs. Mathur loved children and above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was the mother of Rajendra K. Mathur and his wife Hanna of Sharon, Satya Bala Mahtur and her husband Shivraj Bhadhur of India and the late Santosh Mathur. She was the grandmother of Archana Mathur and her husband Pradeep, Sadhana Mathur and her husband Sanjay, Sanjay Mathur and his wife Pooja, Angela Gallagher, Seema Mathur and her husband Michael Cooney and Meera Mathur. She was the sister of the late Maya Prasad. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
