Webster
Joyce A. ( Redlitz ) Cozzens, 80 of 130 Lakeside Ave.,passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester after a courageous battle with cancer.
She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Robert A. Cozzens, one daughter, Christine A. Costello, one grandson, Jonathan A. Costello, and a sister, Evelyn Swierzbin, all of Webster and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joyce was born in Webster, daughter of Edmund A. and Alice E. (Miller) Redlitz and lived here all her life.
She graduated in 1947 from Bartlett High School and The Memorial Hospital School of Nursing,she was the vice-president of her graduating class at The Memorial. Joyce was a registered nurse and worked at Hubbard Regional Hospital and later worked at the former American Optical Co. as an occupational nurse before retiring.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Oxford and was a Sunday School teacher at the church.
Joyce enjoyed playing the piano and loved music.She also was an accomplished artist with watercolors
Joyce and Bob enjoyed travelling and loved family and friends.
The Funeral will be Monday, March 29, 2010 with a Service at 10 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 70 Main St. (Route 12) in Oxford. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Webster.
Calling hours for Joyce will be Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 4 to 7 PM at the Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St., in Webster.
