TEWKSBURY: Paul F. Crowley, Sr., age 71, a resident of Tewksbury for 41 years, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell.
He was the beloved husband of Claire J. (Hill) Crowley, with whom he celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on May 6, 2009.
Born in Cambridge on November 22, 1938, he was the son of the late John J. and Helen I. (Boyle) Crowley.
Paul was raised in Cambridge and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in East Cambridge.
Mr. Crowley served during the late 50's and early 1960's in the Army National Guard.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for over 20 years as a technician by the Raytheon Corporation in Waltham and Andover.
In 1969, he and his wife moved from Cambridge to Tewksbury.
While residing in Tewksbury, Paul volunteered as a coach in the Tewksbury Little League Baseball Program.
Mr. Crowley was a communicant of St. Williams Parish.
Paul enjoyed many activities and was an avid New England sports fan.
In addition to his wife Claire, he is survived by five sons, Paul F. Crowley, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Windham, NH, David W. Crowley and his wife Elizabeth of Reading, Matthew F. Crowley of Cornelius, NC, John K. Crowley and his wife Gail of Mooresville, NC and Keith D. Crowley and his wife Joyce of Windham, NH; nine grandchildren, Jack, Matthew, Nicole, Ashley, Sean, Nathan, Jake, Molly and Grace Crowley; two brothers, Jack Crowley and his wife Bina of Amelia Island, FL and Robert Crowley and his wife Renay of Westford; two sisters, Julie McDonough and her husband Bob of Everett and Carol Doherty and her husband Edward of Melrose; also many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Crowley was the brother of the late William Crowley, Rosemary Swett, and Phyllis Burns.
Calling hours Friday, March 26, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Saturday, March 27, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115
