Margaret A “Peggy” (Belcher) Dalessio, of Woburn and Saint Cloud, Florida, formerly of Somerville and Medford, died early Tuesday morning in the company of her loving family. She was 74.
Peggy was born and raised in Somerville, the daughter of the late William F. Jr. and the late Margaret (Kearney) Belcher. A vibrant woman, Peggy worked for many years as her husband’s partner in Artery Sales and Service of Somerville and Artery Lock of Medford. Matriarch of a large and active family, Peggy’s homes were always a gathering place for family and friends, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. She and her husband Joe enjoyed their trips to Florida. Peggy loved to Dance and enjoyed her activities with the Somerville Ladies’ Lodge. She was a voracious reader, and was a very active member of St Joseph parish both with the Grenadiers and the Mother’s Club.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Dalessio, who died in 2007, she is survived by her children: Joseph Dalessio and his wife Laura of Lititz, PA, Peggy Jensen and her husband Lyle of Largo, FL, Diane DeSimone of Melrose, David Dalessio of Winthrop, Laura Baccini and her husband Dom of Billerica and Linda Spencer of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Angela, Joseph, Michael, Steven, Brooks, Gracie, Jaden, Ronni, Jessica, Charlie, Jennifer, Pamela, Holly, Joey, David Jr, Mia, Glenn, Domenic, Liana, Lisa, Anthony, Paul, Sean and Adam. She was a loving great-grandmother to Colin. She was a dear sister to Michael Belcher and the late William Belcher. She leaves her beloved sister-in-law Ava Belcher and many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit Friday from 4-9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Procession will gather at the funeral home Saturday, March 27th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral mass celebrating Peggy’s life in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Hill Mausoleum.
