Obituary

Harwich—Anita F. “Babe” (Brunelli) Martello 81, of Harwich, and a former longtime Franklin resident, died Sunday March 21, 2010 at the Stanley Tippet House in Needham, following a long illness. She was the wife of Harry J. Martello.
Born in Franklin, December 5, 1928 a daughter of the late Guido and Anita (Geromini) Brunelli, she lived in Franklin for most of her life until moving to Harwich 12 years ago.
She was educated in Franklin schools, and also graduated the New England Deaconess School in Boston. Until her retirement, Mrs. Martello worked at Norwood Hospital as an inhalation therapist technician.
She was an active member of the Harwich Council on Aging, and was a former member of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin and its Catholic Women’s Club. She also enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, gardening, walking and travel.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 59 years is a son; Mark H. Martello and his wife Ann of Wrentham, three brothers; Robert G. Brunelli and Thomas Brunelli of Franklin, and John Brunelli of Alexandria, Virginia, a sister Jean Dupre of Jaffrey, New Hampshire, 2 grandchildren Benjamin J. and Elizabeth F. Martello, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Laura Going.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday March 26th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.
Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8PM.
