SHERLOCK, Gertrude E. "Gertie" (Hannahan) of Dorchester (Neponset) suddenly March 21, 2010. Beloved wife of the late Thomas. Loving mother of Janice and her husband William Cox of Abington, Thomas and his wife Judi Sherlock of Hyannis, Stephen and his wife Pam Sherlock of Whitman, Richard and his wife Sheila Sherlock of Whitman, Robert and his wife Lori Sherlock of Dorchester. Loving sister of Louise Griffin of Dorchester. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, who loved her dearly. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Gertie was a member of the Greatest Generation (WW-II). She served her country as a welder in the ship yards, known as a Rosie the Riveter. Retired member of Local # 25 Teamsters with Jordan Marsh Warehouse, Quincy.
Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery @ 2:30 pm.
