Giuseppe De Pascale, died Sunday at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He was 91.
Born and raised in Avellino, Italy he was the son of the late Michael and the late Maria (Saporito) De Pascale. Giuseppe served in the Italian Military during World War II and was a prisoner of war, held by the British for several years. After coming to the United States with his family in 1970, He settled in Medford and began working at Schrafft’s candies in Charlestown until his retirement. Giuseppe was devoted to his family, worked hard to provide for them and delighted in their success.
The beloved husband of the late Amelia (Matarazzo), he leaves his sons: Michael and his wife Maria of Medford and Mario and his wife Maria of Revere. He is also survives by his grandsons: Stephen and his wife Enrica of Tyngsboro, Robert of South Boston and great grandson Marco. He was a dear brother to Viola Raimo of Italy and the late Nicola, Michele, Antonio, Mario, Leonilda, Sabatina, Mafalda, Antonietta and Gaetanina. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, March 26, at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Thursday 4 – 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
