Anita L. Beaton, 69, of Bonita Springs, FL died Monday March 22, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Londonderry, NH. Mrs. Beaton was born in Cambridge, MA on April 11, 1940, daughter of the late Jeffrey and Elva (Paine) Murphy. She lived in Derry, NH for 30 years, moving to Florida after retiring 12 years ago. She had been employed at Integrated Health Services in Derry as activities director and head of housekeeping. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed traveling with her husband Leo, time spent with her family and camping in Hampstead. She was an avid Red Sox fan, loved Doo Wop, 50’s music and Rock and Roll. In addition to knitting, Bingo and cooking, she enjoyed listening to others.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Leo A. Beaton of Bonita Springs, FL, two sons, Joseph Beaton of Lawrenceville, GA, David A. Beaton and his wife Sonia of E. Derry, NH, one daughter, Denise Gagnon and her husband Robert of Londonderry, five grandchildren, Dylan Beaton and his fiance Rachael Sprague, Dakota-Lee Dumont, Nicholas Demars, Heather Gagnon and Jennifer Gagnon, and her great-grandson, Anthony David Beaton. She was predeceased by her brother, Jeffrey Murphy and her sister, Elva E. O’Brien.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, March 25th from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at 1:00pm in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
