Ruth E. (Brine) Coleman, age 91, died peacefully sunday afternoon, March 21, 2010, at her Woburn home. Born in Arlington, Ruth was the beloved daughter of the late Marguerite L. (Gillis) & Charles L. Brine. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late James J. Coleman whom she shared 25 years of marriage.
Ruth was raised in Woburn, and she graduated from Woburn High School. Ruth worked for the American Mutual Insurance Company and the Pepsi Cola Corporation. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, gardening and was an accomplished homemaker.
Ruth was the devoted mother of Ellen P. Coleman-Wolf of New Castle, Virginia, James J. Coleman Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina, Thomas S. Coleman and Janet A. Regan both of Woburn. She was the dear grandmother to Alicia Angelo, Renee Kent, and Crystal Coleman all of Florida, Emily Coleman-Wolfe, Kate Coleman, and James Coleman of North Carolina, and James Regan of Boston. She leaves two great grandchildren Alexa and Kiyah Kent of Florida. Sister of Mary O'Connor of Woburn, Joseph Brine of Woburn, Alice Hannus of NH and the late Charles Brine, Margaret Power, Donald Brine and Clare Ross.
Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Thursday, March 25th at 10:30 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St. Woburn at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the funeral home prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in Ruth's name to Alzheimers Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
