William J. Hoefer, 87, of Orlando, Florida died Sunday, March 21, 2010 in Orlando.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 26 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with Rev. Wayne McCrimmon officiating. Interment will follow in New Valley Grove Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8:30 at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Hoefer was born July 5, 1922 in Yonkers, New York to the late William and Kathleen Bennett Hoefer. He served in the U.S. Air Corp during World War, II in the North African Campaign. Mr. Hoefer worked for the United States Post Office in Orlando, FL for 25 years. He had a love for boxing and was very active in Amateur boxing and Golden Gloves.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Delores Hoefer of Orlando, FL; sons William J. Hoefer, Jr. and wife, Candis of Washington, DC and David Hoefer and his wife, Diane of Orlando, FL; grandchildren: Rachel Sabillion, William J. Hoefer, III, Bradley Hoefer and Elizabeth Hoefer and 4 great grandchildren.
