Salem: Marjorie J. (Moran) Mari, age 61 of Salem, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the NSMC / Salem Hospital. She was the wife of Alfred L. Mari, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage.
Born in Tewksbury and raised in Nahant, she was the daughter of Timothy F. Moran and the late Ruth B. (Moriarty) Moran. Marjorie was a graduate of Lynn Classical High and attended the Boston Institute of Art where she followed her passion for painting. As a young girl, growing up in Nahant, she loved all sports including football with the boys, and as a young woman she excelled in swimming and softball.
Marjorie dedicated most of her life to care giving. She not only worked as a nurses’ aid in hospital and long term care facilities, but in the home environment as well as in her family circle. She was a compassionate loving woman who not only loved and respected people but all animals as well.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by 2 sons, Robert and Gordon Mari both of Salem, a daughter, Shannon Sullivan and her husband Scott of Salem, a brother Timothy G. Moran and his wife Gail of W. Peabody, a sister, Kathleen R. Daniels and her husband Robert of Stoneham, 2 grand-daughters, Mellisa Sullivan and Brianna Mari, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the long time care giver of her nephew the late Brian Mari.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 7 p.m. in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem.
