Marjorie Ann Greene Moxley, age 75, died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. She was born September 25, 1934 in Belmont, MS to Wallace and Vera Deaton Greene, and later moved to Water Valley, MS where she was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir for many years. She was active in the Garden Club of Water Valley, serving as their president, and was widely appreciated by her neighbors and friends for her delectable pies and casseroles she created whenever there was a special reason.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 6 until 8 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, March 24 at 11:00 AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Lance Clement, Steven Gray, Drew Gray, Tim Stockton, Hubert Sanders, and Tom Meek serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Paul Odom and Walt Hardy. A graveside service will take place at Lindsay Cemetery in Belmont, MS at 3:30 PM following the service.
She is survived by her children, Jeannie and Travis Clement of Water Valley, MS; her mother, Vera Deaton Greene of Russellville, AL; a sister, Jolene Stockton of Russellville, AL; three grandchildren, Charlotte Gray and husband Steven, of Horn Lake, MS, Lance Clement and wife Andrea, of Water Valley, MS, and Denise Tate of Cordova, TN; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer C. "Buddy" Moxley, her father, Wallace Greene, and her daughter, Cindy Moxley Michael.
